Analogy of Dianetics and Scientology

July 4, 2009

One last note before I start doing July 4th stuff.  I thought of this analogy this morning while walking in the nature park

Imagine you enter the Museum of Natural History in NYC and you start having a wonderful time learning about the history of man and the tools we used to survive in our primitive states.

At some point something happens but you are not informed that it happened or when it happened.

You do all the rounds and decide it’s time to leave and you get to the lobby and the doors are locked closed and there are large videos in front of the doors and up on the walls displaying horrible things happening outside.

If you try to unlock the doors to see what’s outside musclebound guards hit you brutally with nightsticks and brutally shock you with tazer guns, until you give up or black out.

The other change you don’t realize is that at that unannounced moment of alteration, you became amnesiac of the vast warehouse of knowledge you had about the world outside the museum.

You no longer remember facts like the fact that there are sophisticated cars and subways outside or that people use cell phones and the internet and don’t even remember now, all the stuff that is in Manhattan to see and visit.

It’s all become vague images of “imagination” or “dreams”.

You finally resolve that you are there to stay and become accustomed to, and learn to enjoy the tools and artifacts that are available in the museum to continue on living, with the other people trapped in the museum.

That to some extent is what has happened to us as spiritual beings as we got curious about these human bodies (and other bodies on other planets) and were seduced by others or our own curiosity to experience what it’s like to be one, to be inside the head of one and to know what they know, feel what they feel etc. and then ending up stuck in human bodies life after life after life, virtually forever like the Buddhist cycle of life and death. (not to mention being “planetlocked”, like “landlocked”, here on this one planet earth)

To further the analogy, the Dianetics book would be like a map that guides you to a hidden door down a hall no one normally goes down, somewhere in the Museum that will let you go outside the museum. This hall and door are not guarded because the guards don’t even know about it and the entrance to the hall (that leads to the escape door) is presumably another door going to a storage room rarely used by anyone that gets little attention by anyone.

Scientology is the door itself that allows you to exit and would include a handbook or guide and video library at the door that would remind you of the things you had gotten amnesia about and show and tell you other things about life outside the museum about NYC and the rest of earth that you never knew.

Hope that helps,

Norm

Fantastic news – A new lecture series is just now being released by Bridge Publications “The Golden Dawn”. This is amazing stuff! Check it out!

Of course, this is all explained in The Basics.
